Our traditional January concert returns as a joyful celebration of music by
Gershwin “and more” great American composers, featuring internationally
renowned British piano virtuoso, Peter Donohoe. Well-known Gershwin favorites,
movie themes of John Williams, and popular songs of Duke Ellington are
complemented by two works of special note: the fabulous Romanian Rhapsody
No. 1 of George Enescu, first introduced here four years ago, and the premiere
of the medley A Soldier’s Return, a rousing new work by young film and television
composer Luc Radu.
